As a young advisor for student voice and a member of the votes at 16 coalition run by the British Youth Council I had the amazing opportunity to attend a meeting in the Houses of Parliament.

There were a number of lords and MPs there giving their own view as well as their parties on what they believe the voting age should be. There were many opportunities to ask questions and find out a little bit more about how votes at 16 will happen.

It was a very interesting day, and I feel I learnt a lot more about how the bill can be passed in the House of Commons. I feel motivated and inspired to do something about it!

Whilst I am in favour of votes at 16 there are many young people and adults who are against it as they believe young people are not mature enough. What do you think? Are we ready for votes at 16?
